My name is Jane Rae and I am a freelance editor, project manager and writer with a passion for textiles.  In my role as Features Editor for Today's Quilter magazine I am  fortunate to spend my days meeting talented makers, artists, designers, curators and collectors of beautiful quilts and textiles.

Quilting is close to my heart and for the last five years, I've been involved with an oral history project called Talking Quilts which is sharing the stories of quilters here in the UK. Discover more by visiting

Closer to home, and on the textile heritage theme, we are building a studio space and plan to start building two holiday cottages in 2019  so that visitors can come and explore our little corner of the world in the Scottish Borders.  Watch this space, as they say.
